How we format your thesis

Review: We review your styling guidelines or reference the latest edition of any fixed standards such as APA, MLA or Turabian.

Collate: Combine files and collate any other material to create a single source file to work from.

Prepare: Remove unwanted spaces, breaks, tabs and sections to create clean text ready for formatting.

Layout: Set margins, breaks, columns, headers, footers, orientation and page numbering.

Structure: Set up title page, copyright, glossary, chapters, headings, appendices, to make structure and navigation clear.

Format: Style main text, headings levels, lists, numbering and quotations consistently throughout.

Tables: Present all table data in a manner that is both clear and consistent with the content.

Images: Size, crop, straighten, rotate, reshape or wrap images to work best with the text on each page.

Captions: Number each figure, table, chart or diagram with the correct label and cross-reference.

Contents: Include fully dynamic lists of contents, figures and tables with page numbers as required.

Notes: Create or style footnotes or endnotes that link to numbered instances on each page.

Referencing: Format numerical and parenthetical bibliography entries. Please note that syntax editing and re-sequencing is not included in this service.

do you take confidentiality seriously?

Absolutely. We routinely handle unpublished, copyrighted or sensitive files so we completely understand your concerns and take confidentiality very seriously. Information and files will only be shared with our staff and associates, all of whom have individually signed a confidentiality agreement.

how much will my job be?

A thesis can be very varied in terms of length, complexity, styling requirements and how the source file has been prepared. As a result the quickest way to get an accurate price is to send us everything for review so we can quickly issue a quotation.

In the meantime as a guide:

$2.24 USD per page for most types of thesis.
$3.20 USD per page and upwards for more complex files, equation work or very dense guidelines.

A minimum price of $240 USD typically applies. We ask for 50% payment for our designers to start work and the balance once you are entirely happy.

what guidelines do you need?

Most universities will provide a pdf or weblink with any formatting instructions. If you are providing a weblink please be sure that it is the correct one for your particular department. If your thesis is to be styled to strict APA or MLA guidelines, this is fine, but please note most universities will have their own overrides for the styling of the front matter so it is important to let us have these. Where guidelines are loose or unclear students may wish to provide us with a pdf of a thesis previously accepted by their university instead.

how long will it take?

All timescales quoted are in working days days Monday to Friday. If your submission deadline is looming and you're on a real time crunch, please ask for us to quote our express service. Express jobs are subject to a 30%, 50% or 100% fee depending on the speed required. This is because we will need to prioritize the work over other customers and/or work outside normal business hours.

how does payment work?

All payments are made through PayPal, the largest and most trusted online payment system in the world. PayPal accept payments with any debit or credit card in a wide range of currencies. You do not require a PayPal account to make payment.

Please note that paying by e-cheque may delay your job as clearance can take several days. We cannot accept checks or cash or take payments over the phone. For your security all transactions are processed by PayPal. Once you have completed payment PayPal will send us automatic notification of your payment and will send you an email confirmation.

will you redo all my images?

A thesis will always look more professional when figures are branded and styled to match. Where applicable we will offer to restyle these and itemise any additional charges in your quotation.

If figures are provided in editable, source format such as Excel or SmartArt they can just be reworked and restyled. If we are asked to work on figures that are only available as images, we can completely rebuild and style these from scratch as editable diagrams, charts or graphs but would require longer to do so.

do you edit my document?

Our designers are experts with MS Word and will ensure your thesis absolutely complies with good formatting practice and guidelines. However, we will not be editing the text in any way. This including citations, spelling corrections, grammar checks, references etc.

We do however run typographic checks to make the styling of the text consistent. This means we ensure headings have consistent casing, check that “quotation” marks come in pairs, that all sentences end with punctuation. And all punctuation is followed by a single space.

what will I get back?

We return to you a standard Word .docx file. This will have been cleanly formatted using proper paragraph styles and is fully editable and complaint with all currently supported versions of Word.

what if I need changes?

Receiving your feedback and making adjustments is all part of the process.

review

Once your thesis has been formatted we return a review file. If at this stage you believe anything we have done differs from your guidelines, let us know and we'll fix it without charge. All other changes are subject to a $48 USD minimum fee and we will always look to make these for you as quickly as possible.
